Your kiddos may think the start of the school year is light years away, but it is right around the corner. They may or may not be looking forward to starting a new year. Will I be in class with my friends? Will I like my new teacher? Parents if you are excited about school and learning your children will be also. Lead by example. Turn the TV off, read more books, sit down and figure out their homework with them. These are qualities that will help make them great students and give them skills that will last a lifetime.
Proverbs 22:6 “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
Parents let’s not sit back and watch the teachers teach our children. Let’s get involved. I know sometimes it’s hard to get away from work and volunteer in their classroom. I am extremely guilty of this one. However, this is a new goal of mine for this school year and the coming school years. I am going to put my kids first and go to as many school parties as I possibly can! If you are volunteering at the school more, you get to know their friends, and teachers better. It helps you get more connected and know exactly what your children are doing. They will most likely not get into as much trouble knowing you will be popping in every once and awhile.
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for all the teachers that are tasked with molding our children into successful young men and women. Please watch over them to have patience, kindness and soft voices with our children. I pray for all the kids to have respect and open minds for the teachers. I pray for the parents to have patience while helping with their kids homework, and for the parents to get more involved and lead by example. Our God you are so awesome and powerful we know we can do all things through you and with you. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
