Summer is almost here! YEAH! I don’t know about you, but I am always a little hesitant to expose my legs after keeping them hidden all fall and winter. They need a little TLC before they come into the sunlight.
I have recently ran across several scrubs on Pinterest that I couldn’t wait to try. They claim to help get rid of cellulite, and let’s be honest ladies, we all have a little and would like it GONE!
I didn’t have the exact ingredient list at home for the scrubs I had found, so I changed it up a bit and added a few touches of my own. I loved the end result! My skin looked and felt amazing! I have used it a couple of times a week and have had great results!
- 1/2 cup of ground coffee
- 1 tablespoon of white sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of glycerin (you can buy this at any local drug store. It helps seal in moisture.)
- 2 teaspoons of vitamin E oil – I use the capsules
How to use it:
1. Mix ingredients 2. Jump in a hot shower to open up your pores 3. Turn shower off then rub the mixture all over your body 4. Scrub your skin pretty intensely for about 5 minutes. You can target specific areas like the thighs and rear to help with cellulite.
I also took it to another level. I wrapped saran wrap around my thighs and stomach then I used my hair dryer to heat it up a little. (It’s your very own wrap that are all the rave these days.) I waited about 10-15 minutes before washing it off.
Warning: This will be very messy!
What I noticed: Right away my skin felt AMAZING! It was the smoothest my skin has ever felt. I also noticed a little bit less cellulite. The caffeine and antioxidants in coffee are moderately effective to help reduce the appearance of cellulite in the short term. As a stimulant, the caffeine in coffee dilates blood vessels, which temporarily tones and tightens tissue. Plus, it increases circulation and reduces water retention, both of which may also help smooth the rumpled look of cellulite. The antioxidants in coffee may help to release toxins, which is not only helpful for cellulite, but for healthy skin in general (source: Women’s Health Magazine).
This is quick and easy to mix up. If your husband walks in and catches you in the act, be prepared for the “what in the world are you doing” look. Can you blame him? =)
