Just when you think you world is crazy and you couldn’t possibly love another child like you do the first two that you already have, God once again proves He knows best! He proves that with His help and the awesome tribe he puts in your life, you can, and will, live out the plan he has set for your life!
Before last Wednesday, I was feeling incredibly nervous about having a third baby. Excited? Yes. But also so nervous! How on earth was I going to be able to have a third child? Is there anyway I could really love this baby as much as I love Briley and Rhett? I had convinced myself I wasn’t meant to be a mom of three. I just couldn’t handle it.
Fast forward to Tuesday evening. Ouch! Contractions started around 10 p.m. I took a quick nap, woke up an hour later to more intense contractions that were closer together. Laid there for awhile, then woke up Robbie and decided we should go. Before getting out of bed, I shed a few tears. I just needed a minute. A minute to be sad that life as I knew it was about to end. I think most moms that have had 2+ kids know this feeling I am talking about.
Then it happened. After a few short hours of labor, the most perfect tiny bundle of sweetness came into this world. Immediately my tears that were full of anxiety and nervousness just hours before quickly turned to tears full of joy and thankfulness! Thank you, God, for changing life as I once knew it! Thank you for our perfect Reese Elizabeth!
Reese came into the world on October 25 at 10:26 am weighing 6 pounds and 1 ounce. She is 19 inches long and we are in love. When I say we–I mean the whole gang! Of course mom and dad can’t get enough, but Briley and Rhett are smitten as well. And if there has ever been somebody born with a fan club, it is Reese! I can hardly talk about my awesomely supportive family and friends without glowing with pride and shedding a few tears! The support we have felt from our people is inspiring and makes me incredible thankful.
Briley is already lovingly referring to her as “peanut butter cup” and protective Big Brother Rhett is already protecting her from everything–including the silly nickname Briley has adopted!
So yes, our world was turned upside down on Wednesday, but thank God that it was! We can’t wait to watch you grow sweet, sweet Reese Elizabeth!
